Warm the Homeless

Benefiting: Operation Breakthrough

For February’s mission, our team decided to reach out to children in need. We visited Operation Breakthrough, a daycare facility in Kansas City, Mo. serving over 600 children from no-low income families. Our hope was to spend time with the children doing activities that might brighten their day. Eight team members spent the afternoon at Operation Breakthrough, providing the supplies/help for them to make Valentine's Day cards and cookies. The smiles and excitement we received in response was overwhelming! The kids greatly appreciated our time with them. They were so proud when they delivered their cards to their parents at the end of the day. It proved that it truly is the simple things that count...that a few hours of giving can truly make a lasting impression on a child. In addition, the impact was so great that many of our team members committed to volunteering at the facility in the future.
