People

Benefiting: Community LINC

Community LINC is an organization that provides shelter and other helpful resources with the intention of helping homeless families get back on their feet and re-integrated into society.

MMG Worldwide has created a marketing program for Community LINC help get the word out to as many people as possible within Kansas City about this worthwhile charity. The marketing program will include; helping Community LINC with their website so everyone can understand what they do for people alongside commercials and billboards. In addition to raising awareness, the marketing program is designed to encourage people to participate in any way they can--ideally through donations of time and money. All pieces of the marketing plan will be implemented by MMG employees before April 30, 2010. These efforts will conclude with a fundraising event that will benefit one of the residential units at Community LINC, as well as MMG preparing it for a homeless family to move in. The attached photos are of a site visit MMG’s marketing committee made to Community LINC to visit staff and residents, as well as to gather input on the needs of the organization. We feel that the marketing plan provided will not only help raise awareness and support for Community LINC, but will also help the organization create lasting marketing programs that continue to help their cause long after this event is over.

Glory House Transformation!

Benefiting: Glory House Services

The founding members of Glory House Services (GHS), working out of donated space in the First Haitian Baptist Church, are dedicated to providing Haitians who relocate to Kansas City, the transitional support they need such as: translation services; education in English and computer skills; job preparation and diet consultation.

MMG Worldwide hosted a chili lunch with a raffle and silent auction that raised over $2,300 for GHS. A new website was created (www.gloryhouseKC.org), complete with the ability to accept online donations; email addresses were set-up and a Facebook page was established for the organization. Printed marketing materials that included posters, brochures and business cards were designed and produced by MMG and partnered vendors, which valued over $1,600—all with the goal to help promote Glory House’s services and recruit volunteers. MMG completed the classroom space by cleaning, priming, painting and furnishing it with tables, chairs and bookshelves. Wireless Internet access and electricity was re-configured to accommodate the new space and computer equipment was evaluated, restored or recycled on their behalf. Remaining funds allowed for the purchase of a laptop computer that was donated to the GHS team to maintain their new website and social media connections—this only added to President Joseph Idalbert’s excitement, to finally see his 4-year dream come true!

Car Wash & Party!

Benefiting: Rose Brooks Center

Our team chose to work with the Rose Brooks Center. Rose Brooks is a comprehensive domestic violence agency that provides a full continuum of care including prevention programming, crisis intervention and other supportive services to thousands of women and children each year.

To support their organization we chose to do three separate activities. We spent one Saturday morning at the center volunteering to do spring cleaning which included mowing and weed eating the lawn and surrounding areas and also picking up litter and trash around the complex. Our second task was a car wash we held in our company's parking lot in which we raised just over $700 to go to Rose Brooks. Third and lastly, we had a Cinco de Mayo party for our employees. We called several restaurants around the area to get the food and beverages donated, and then we charged $5 at the door. During the party, we also held a silent auction that included items donated by local businesses to help raise more money for our cause. Between the auction and the party we raised about $1000.

All in all, we raised around $1700 to be donated to the Rose Brooks Center. We had a great time volunteering and also feel we have made some lasting friendships.
