Project Change - Event Two: Places
Benefiting: Glory House Services

The founding members of Glory House Services (GHS), working out of donated space in the First Haitian Baptist Church, are dedicated to providing Haitians who relocate to Kansas City, the transitional support they need such as: translation services; education in English and computer skills; job preparation and diet consultation.

MMG Worldwide hosted a chili lunch with a raffle and silent auction that raised over $2,300 for GHS. A new website was created (www.gloryhouseKC.org), complete with the ability to accept online donations; email addresses were set-up and a Facebook page was established for the organization. Printed marketing materials that included posters, brochures and business cards were designed and produced by MMG and partnered vendors, which valued over $1,600—all with the goal to help promote Glory House’s services and recruit volunteers. MMG completed the classroom space by cleaning, priming, painting and furnishing it with tables, chairs and bookshelves. Wireless Internet access and electricity was re-configured to accommodate the new space and computer equipment was evaluated, restored or recycled on their behalf. Remaining funds allowed for the purchase of a laptop computer that was donated to the GHS team to maintain their new website and social media connections—this only added to President Joseph Idalbert’s excitement, to finally see his 4-year dream come true!
