About Us

In June 2008, long-time sales representative Beverly McAuley decided it was time to make a change. A change for the better. A change that would truly make a difference in the community around her. So she created Project Change. With the support of friends, co-workers, clients and other sales representatives, she identified and mobilized a network of people committed to the vision of what Project Change could become. Three short months later, the first event was planned. And Kansas City and the MidWest region continue to reap the rewards!

Who Are We:

Project Change is a Kansas City based not-for-profit organization comprised of teams of businesses and individuals who are dedicated to making a positive impact in their community. Each team competes in a set of challenges via acts of creative community service, with the winners receiving money for their non-profit of choice. Win or lose, our teams’ cumulative efforts make life much better for numerous charities.

The Main Event:

The Project Change Challenge Event is a team-based community service competition. Up to fifteen teams of volunteers within their local communities are organized to compete for bragging rights and the chance to make a cash donation to their charity of choice. Teams are challenged to create and perform multiple community service projects within a 4-month period. They are empowered to “Be the Change they wish to see in the world”. - Mahatma Gandhi

Our Results:

In the past 5 seasons, the Challenge Event grew to more than 2,000 volunteers and 400 participating companies. We have completed over 250 community service projects benefiting more than 120 local charities servicing our homeless and less fortunate! Through our volunteer efforts we have clothed and fed 50,000 people, created new programs, formed relationships, rebuilt classrooms, shelter spaces, parks and community gardens, saving the community thousands of dollars and changing lives forever! These results are only a portion of our teams’ accomplishments. But to those who participate, the Journey IS the reward.
