Project Change - Event Three: Things
Benefiting: Reach out and Read

In the evening of April 8, 2010 Team Black Bamboo raised the doors at Black Bamboo down in the Crossroads and welcomed guests to a fundraiser benefiting Reach Out and Read Kansas City.

Black Bamboo Team members proved to be gracious hosts with the assortment of cocktails and savory and sweet treats provided for  approximately 75 guests as they mingled and learned more about Reach Out and Read Kansas City.

Everyone had a great time, and with our donations, we now are able to make a huge impact on the lives of young children in our community!

In the words of Pam Madaus, Program Director at ROR-KC: “A HUGE Thank you to Team Black Bamboo for the FUNd raiser last night!! In addition to the 200 books Team Black Bamboo donated, we collected $1,485 in cash donations.  This is enough to provide books & schoolreadiness advice to almost 500 children & families!"

Everyone from ROR-KC commented on how wonderful it was to meet new people and have a chance to chat about the work that we do.

Thank you all for the opportunity to (as the Girl Scout song says) - make new friends and keep the old.”
